Efficacy of Insecticides Against Rice White Backed Planthopper

نویسندگان

چکیده

Efficacy of some insecticides (pymetrozine 50WG, sulfoxaflor 24SC and imidacloprid 17.8SL) was evaluated against rice white backed plant hopper (WBPH) Sogatella furcifera Horvath. Sulfoxaflor @218.7 g a.i./ ha pymetrozine 50WG @ 187.5 gave significantly results (7.57 7.82/ hill, respectively). However, highest grain straw yield (40.87 64.33 q/ ha) observed with 50WG@ 218.7 (40.41 64.22 ha). Regarding incrementalcost benefit ratio (ICBR), it that maximum ICBR obtained 50 WG@ (1: 3.55) followed by 2.99). Thus, at a.i./ha can be recommended WBPH.

Erratum to: Genome sequence of a rice pest, the white-backed planthopper (Sogatella furcifera)

Background Sogatella furcifera is an important phloem sap-sucking and plant virus-transmitting migratory insect of rice. Because of its high reproductive potential, dispersal capability and transmission of plant viral diseases, S. furcifera causes considerable damage to rice grain production and has great economical and agricultural impacts. Comprehensive studies into ecological aspects and vir...

Insecticidal effect of recombinant endophytic bacterium containing Pinellia ternata agglutinin against white backed planthopper, Sogatella furcifera

White backed planthopper (WBPH; Sogota furcifera Horvath) has become the major threat to rice crops throughout Asia, damaging plants both through its feeding behavior and by acting as a virus vector. Here, we developed a novel method for biologically controlling WBPH by using endophytic bacterium to express anti-pest plant lectins. Strain SJ-10 of an endophytic bacterium, characterized as Enter...

Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus: a white-backed planthopper-transmitted fijivirus threatening rice production in Asia

Southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV), a non-enveloped icosahedral virus with a genome of 10 double-stranded RNA segments, is a novel species in the genus Fijivirus (family Reoviridae) first recognized in 2008. Rice plants infected with this virus exhibit symptoms similar to those caused by Rice black-streaked dwarf virus. Since 2009, the virus has rapidly spread and caused serious ...

Efficacy of Selected Insecticides Applied to Hybrid Rice Seed

Hybrid rice and insecticide seed treatments targeting rice water weevil, Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus Kuschel, have altered the landscape of rice production. The effect of reduced seeding rates on seed treatment efficacy in hybrid rice has not been studied. During 2011 and 2012, an experiment was conducted at seven locations to determine the relationship between low seeding rates used in hybrid ri...

Efficacy of microencapsulated insecticides against the sandfly, Phlebotomus papatasi Scopoli.

The baseline and residual activity of micro-encapsulated insecticides was assessed on a sandfly colony originating in the Jordan Valley, Israel. Lethal doses were calculated for formulations of the pyrethroids permethrin and cypermethrin and the organophosphates diazinon and chlorpyrifos. Cypermethrin was found to be more toxic than permethrin and chlorpyrifos was more toxic than diazinon. Acco...
